cHOOSE YOUR DESTINATION

Travel to Africa with Ghecko Safaris and discover some of the most beautiful destinations in the world. As experts in creating tailor-made itineraries throughout Southern Africa we can create the perfect itinerary for you.

Why not start your adventures in the Private Game Reserves adjacent to the Kruger National Park, such as the Sabi Sands , Northern Kruger Park ( including Timbavati, Thornybush and Manyeleti ) and the Kruger Private Concessions. Head south to Cape Town and the Cape Winelands , the gastronomic capital of Southern Africa. If its adrenaline you are after why not head to the Victoria Falls area where you can enjoy activities such as Bungee Jumping, Helicopter Flips, River Rafting or simply admire the Falls. A short hop, skip and a jump from the Victoria Falls you will find Chobe National Park , home to 55 000 elephants and arguably some of the finest sunsets in the world.

THE SABI SAND

The Sabi Sands is the most successful and private reserve in South Africa. The Sabi Sands is a series of private game reserves that sit adjacent and on the Western Boundary of South Africa’s Kruger National Park. There are no fences between the Kruger National Park and the Sabi Sands and therefore the wildlife is able to move freely between the two areas. The Sabi Sands is regarded by most people to be the premier destination in South Africa for game viewing.

KRUGER PARK CONCESSIONS

The Kruger National Park is 2.2Million hectares and is the size of Switzerland. This spectacular reserve is South Africa’s premier big five game reserve and home to Leopard, Lion, Rhino, Buffalo and Elephant. The Kruger Park was opened for visitor in 1926, but originally founded as the Sabie Game Reserve by President Paul Kruger. The Kruger Park itself has 21 Rest Camps as well as 7 Private Lodge Concessions and 11 designated private safari Lodges.

NORTHERN KRUGER PARK

We use the term North Kruger to describe an area that contains the reserves the Manyeleti, The Timbavati and Thornybush. Each of these reserves contain a variety of luxury private lodges and tented camps where you can enjoy private safari experiences, consisting of off road driving, night drives, bush walks and much more. The Manyeleti, The Timbavati and Thornybush lie to the West of the famous Kruger National Park, and with the exception of Thornybush are ‘open’ to the Kruger Park, allowing the wildlife to roam freely.

vic falls - zambia

Victoria Falls is the adventure capital of Southern Africa. There are a wide variety of activities on offer at Victoria Falls including Bungee Jumping, White Water Rafting, Zip Wires, Canoeing, Elephant Back Safaris, Lion Encounters, Day trips to Chobe and much much more. There is enough to keep you busy in Victoria Falls for at least 2 or 3 days.

CAPE TOWN

As Capetonians we believe that Cape Town should be included on everyone’s itinerary ! We live here and we love it. Come visit us. Cape Town is located and at the very tip of Africa and is a very cosmopolitan city compared to the rest of Africa. A beautiful city dominated by Table Mountain and the Cape Peninsula Mountain Range that runs through the Southern Suburbs, Cape Town is a small city in international terms, and for this reason makes the perfect self drive destination.

chobe savute & linyanti

Essentially Chobe is all about Elephants. Lots of them. And the jury seems to be out on exactly how many there are. We have always said there are approximately 55 000 elephant in Chobe National Park, but some sources seem to indicate this is as high as 120,000 . We suppose there is only one way to find out. Book a trip to Chobe for yourselves and start counting ! Needless to say there is no shortage of elephants and its a daily spectacle at the Chobe River as the elephants come down to the river to drink and bath.
